when your heart stops beating we'll be waiting... RIGHT HERE!

despite how unhappy i may appear in this picture, i am continue to be on top of the world.

[+]i love being able to play music with the (now)3 other gentlemen that i do. i love theory 8 records. i love going to chicago on june 14th and 15th to mix our record with bob weston. i love newly acquired big ampeg 8x10 cabinets. i love playing brand new songs.

[+]i had the most amazing week with megan! she came up tuesday night and stayed with me until saturday. we both went to atlanta on saturday and stayed the night with a friend of hers and then sadly parted ways on sunday. it was a week filled with dates, dinners cooked, movies and favorites shows watched together, talks about music, shopping and whole lots of getting to know eachother more and more.

[+]i must admit i have a kickass job right now. i hope i get to keep it and still live the rock and roll lifestyle.

when i'm nervous or excited i often stumble over my words

less than 1.5 weeks left at this current job. gotta say that feels kinda good. still not too thrilled about having to search for a new job in nashville. but ah well. it's been quite the lazy day today. spent most of the morning catching up on news about the upcoming Batman movie being directed by Christopher Nolan. looks to be a goodie. i know i'm excited.

i'm also excited about the new pad. austin and i stumbled onto quite the kick ass deal. i think i may even have to treat myself to one final trip to ikea before leaving the state of illinois.

last night i talked on the phone with someone amazing and had a very stimulating and comforting conversation.

stuff(y)

i have a cold. i just woke up and my back is sore. painfully sore. my neck too. and due to the whole cold thing my nose is all stuffed up and my throat feels gross.

in spite of these things i intend to have a great weekend.

today = hanging out with my friend danielle and possibly seeing a movie. then tonight i'm either seeing mewithoutyou for free at the metro or hanging out with my mom. i kinda feel like i should hang out with mom as much as i should seeing as i'm moving very soon and she's not taking it too well.

tomorrow = if i can get out of bed early enough my church is going to see The Passion of the Christ. tomorrow afternoon is emily's birthday party. which i'm really happy about. i miss her. and finally tomorrow night is the engine down show at the fireside bowl!

absence makes the heart grow fonder?

whoa! haven't updated this thing in some time...

not too much to report. getting closer to the big move to nashville. getting closer to finishing the sincerity guild full length. yup...

there's a cool little article about theory 8 records and the upcoming "Theory 8 Records Valentine's Day Massacre" show this saturday posted here. look at the "wildcard" column on the the left and scroll down a bit. you'll see it. promise. ...unless, of course, you are reading this at a later date than february 15th. but, yes, go there. read the article. be impressed. be amazed even.

so there. i updated. other than that i will just say that the internet is a strange invention. you meet some wonderful people on there. when you meet some of these people in person your perception of them can change for the better or for the worse.

oh shit! this is what happens when you move to the city and keep procrastinating on changing your driver's liscense address: you get a ticket for having an expired liscense plate because you had no idea it was time to renew you plates because the notice probably went to your old address. what's even funnier is that the address on my driver's liscense is from two moves ago. so... uh... i hope i can straighten this mess out fairly easily. any suggestions?

i finally sold the ampeg! woo! shipped it off today.

i leave for nashville, for recording, in two days!

my current musical obsession is engine down. i can't wait for the new album that they are recording now to come out.

i like grape juice.

accentuate the positive

yeah... so... some pretty crappy things happened in the past 12 hours or so. but this here addition to my blog will focus on the positive.

new year's eve was a blast! many friends from out of town traveled to the great city of chicago for the festivities. i had a few to drink but nothing too crazy... just honest to goodness fun and spending quality time with friends. new year's day i played tour guide for some out of town friends. we walked around downtown and saw some sites including the sky deck at the sears tower. then we finished our play time with some giordano's pizza! mm mmm good! friday i met brian from cali for breakfast and a little shopping at tower records and urban outfitters. i always appreciate conversation with brian... in the short time i've known him he's been a blessing and just a real cool guy. in retrospect, i feel that we talked about me a lot and i wish we could have talked more about what's going on in his life. but i had a blast with him and was glad to be able to say hi to his wife leah before he and i parted ways. friday night i ended up driving out to rockford to meet aaron while he was visiting his parents. we had eggnog milkshakes at culver's and ended up spending some money at the local best buy.

in total i bought the following records:
broken social scene - you forgot it in people
over the rhine - ohio
peter gabriel - so(remastered)
the sundays - reading, writing and arithmetic

good stuff.
