oh shit! this is what happens when you move to the city and keep procrastinating on changing your driver's liscense address: you get a ticket for having an expired liscense plate because you had no idea it was time to renew you plates because the notice probably went to your old address. what's even funnier is that the address on my driver's liscense is from two moves ago. so... uh... i hope i can straighten this mess out fairly easily. any suggestions?

i finally sold the ampeg! woo! shipped it off today.

i leave for nashville, for recording, in two days!

my current musical obsession is engine down. i can't wait for the new album that they are recording now to come out.

i like grape juice.

accentuate the positive

yeah... so... some pretty crappy things happened in the past 12 hours or so. but this here addition to my blog will focus on the positive.

new year's eve was a blast! many friends from out of town traveled to the great city of chicago for the festivities. i had a few to drink but nothing too crazy... just honest to goodness fun and spending quality time with friends. new year's day i played tour guide for some out of town friends. we walked around downtown and saw some sites including the sky deck at the sears tower. then we finished our play time with some giordano's pizza! mm mmm good! friday i met brian from cali for breakfast and a little shopping at tower records and urban outfitters. i always appreciate conversation with brian... in the short time i've known him he's been a blessing and just a real cool guy. in retrospect, i feel that we talked about me a lot and i wish we could have talked more about what's going on in his life. but i had a blast with him and was glad to be able to say hi to his wife leah before he and i parted ways. friday night i ended up driving out to rockford to meet aaron while he was visiting his parents. we had eggnog milkshakes at culver's and ended up spending some money at the local best buy.

in total i bought the following records:
broken social scene - you forgot it in people
over the rhine - ohio
peter gabriel - so(remastered)
the sundays - reading, writing and arithmetic

good stuff.
